F. FINAL FEATURES - THE FUTURE
The much-needed impetus to the movement of enhancing human character, (inculcating qualities like truth, honesty, integrity, sense of duty, committment, peace, love, non-violence, unity etc), for eradicating corruption, violence and terrorism, can be given very gently, sweetly, lovingly, safely and subtly by the method shown by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
10 DIRECTIVES were given by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba on 21.11.1985, one of them is:- Never give or take a bribe, never give in to corruption.
In a nut-shell the Method is: Manifesting the perfection latent within every human being. “Education is the manifestation of the Perfection latent in man.” Divinity, perfection, is the very core of human beings, what is needed is the right environment, the right method and the right effort to draw it out. The latent has to be made patent. The hidden has to become evident. That is True Education - [from the Latin educe meaning to draw out].
Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba has provided a rich legacy for this purpose, both in terms of suitable course content [with necessary expertise] and ample and sufficient means and provisions to meet the demand for the mass supply of the necessary inputs for full-scale implementation [ the course material & teaching aids for students, teachers, educationists].
Decades of Studies and Reports undertaken must now fructify into Decisive Action ! Pilot Projects can be organised, prior to full implementation. The green signal can be very conveniently and easily given by Education Authorities and various Examination Boards [All India and State Boards] by making Human Values Spiritual Science a compulsory part of education (like the 3Rs, the fourth 'R' of education), not just as an extra-curricular activity but as a regular subject for evaluation and examination, in order to Refine human consciousness and mind & to Remove animal traits, by the practice of moral, ethical principles and Spiritual Truths. It is a natural and well known fact that usually students and teachers give full attention to subjects that are included for final evaluation, examination and grades.
With the integration of the right curricular inputs in the Education system and given the right instructions and permission, the teaching community can work marvels - providing the world with noble citizens of good character, the younger generations who can in themselves become the means and method for the eradication of corruption and violence, by their good thoughts, good feelings, good words and good deeds – good Divine Vibrations. Thus the era of peace and goodwill on earth can be ushered in.
The compiler’s late father who had served in various Government Administrative posts, right from Pre-independence years, as Adviser Planning Commission and Secretary in various Ministries, often said the Government only can spread Sai Value Education on an all India basis. The compiler has put in effort to appeal to the Government and submitted the Proposal to the Government Authorities in New Delhi: President, Prime Ministers, Human Resource Development Ministers, NCERT, Chairmen CBSE etc. right from 1999 to 2018, and in June 2018 suggestion was also sent to Dr. K.Kasturirangan, Chairman of the New Education Policy Committee 2017, Bangalore, (-Constituted by HRD Ministry, Govt. of India). Thus human effort is being put....finally what happens is Divine Will.
Given the Right inputs there is no reason why the Human Resources of our nation cannot be effectively refined and corruption weeded out. Corruption charges seem to have become the common order of the day. Immorality and violence have become everyday news.
The blame lies with the schools and colleges of which people are the end products. People want to be modern and enjoy the amenities conferred by science and technology. What is the result ? The quality of human beings is deteriorating; terrorism is threatening peace. There is increasing corruption of the ‘higher-ups’ which was definitely not there in the early Post-independence years. This is the progress free India has made.
The Reason ? Education is making people increasingly greedy for material things and pleasures. History teaches about Hitler, Nazis and other such personalities and ideologies but is silent, or just glosses over Divine Personalities. What happens when students undertake projects etc for in depth study of such topics ? What thoughts are absorbed in their consciousness ? Media too brings continuous updates of unhealthy news items. No wonder Consciousness is disturbed and polluted with unhealthy, aggressive ideas.

The Solution ? Bring back God; awaken divinity in man; include Spiritual Knowledge as a subject in the education process. Give importance to honesty, sincerity and committment to duty, sense of unselfish service as valuable qualities to be inculcated in students. Teach the Truth of the underlying Oneness of all. Cultivate in students - Love for God, fear of sin and morality in society.
The Government and those in authority have to become alert to their duty and responsibility of safeguarding and preserving the nation, through right Education. The Aims and Objectives of Education must be reformulated to include Spiritual Knowledge, as explained by the Avatar of the age, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
The Message of loving service taught by the Great Teachers of humanity should be refreshed in human memory. The Eternal Knowledge given by the previous major Avatars, Sri Ramchandra and Sri Krishna, embodied in the epics Ramayana and Mahabharat and intensely summed-up by Lord Sri Krishna in the Bhagawad Geeta has enabled the enlightened Bharatiyas, firmly anchored in Spiritual Truths, to keep the Spiritual Light ever burning despite threats from internal and external forces. Education must reinforce it.
The knowledge, experience and training, the expertise, has been given to many through His Divine Teachings and Direct Divine Discourses to teachers, students and devotees assembled in His Divine Presence, under His Divine Watchful Eyes. These Upanishadic teachings put into practise are spreading [Upanishad means - sitting down close: Upa means close or near, ni – down and shad- sit ]. The child is the father of man. The seeds sown in yester-years must yield rich sweet fruits now. Youngsters of today are the adults of tomorrow. The seeds sown today are capable of growing into gigantic trees providing welcome shade & refreshing fruits to the weary travellers. Therefore sow the seeds now, guard the young plants and tend them with care: like ‘The Parable of the Sower’ told by Jesus - [Pl. see HVSS Book 3 Unit 7] seeds sown on fertile land will sprout and grow, yeilding a rich harvest.
In His divine discourses on Education Bhagawan has explained: ‘At any time, any place Knowledge (Vidya) is of two types:-
1. Para Vidya – Transcendental Knowledge of the Spiritual Reality and
2. Apara Vidya – Knowledge related to worldly existence.’
I. The Human Values Spiritual Science series [embodying the course material for Para Vidya] was compiled for easy and smooth integration of Human Values and Spiritual Science [Para Vidya] with the Secular Worldly Education [Apara Vidya]. Bhagawan has explained: Worldly Education, even at its best, without Para Vidya is incomplete education. It fails to explain who human beings are and where lies lasting joy or bliss. Without understanding these how can human beings attain their welfare and lasting happiness ? '
II. The series Human Values Spiritual Science Books 1 to 12 is a synthesis of the Bal Vikas and Human Values Programmes as well as the Knowledge imparted by Bhagawan in His various Divine Discourses, and the talks delivered by eminent educationists and learned leaders of various World Religions to the assembled students, teachers and devotees. The books in the above series are so structured that they provide teachers and students easy to follow step by step instructions for manifesting the perfection, Divinity, latent within. It is up to us, students and teachers to manifest it, each as much as he / she can.
III. EVOLUTION : Human Consciousness has to rise to Higher and Purer Levels:
Human Values together with the Theory Spiritual Science can purify and awaken us into our original Pure One Supreme All-Pervasive Divine Consciousness of which all are sparks.
The Soul or Atma, that is our Inner Core, in its own True, Pure Self [Swabhaava: Swa-one’s own, bhaava-nature] is Sheshasayee - Reclining peacefully, calm, serene, undisturbed, on the Serpent-bed [the 5 hooded-cobra representative of the 5 senses] floating on the Ksheera-Saagar [Ksheera-Saagar means Milk-Ocean, the milk of Divine Compassion- milk of human kindness- as the idiom goes. Ocean of Pure Consciousness is an Ocean of Compassion, Love, Bliss, Knowledge]. Lord Vishnu meaning the All-Pervasive [The Sub-atomic Cosmic Reality, Vishwa - Universe + Anoo the constituent units] - is the Reality that the Sages and Seers realised: That Omnipresent, Subtler than the subtlest and Vaster than the vastest, is depicted as Sheshasayee.
“Every human being is a Spark of Divinity” All are drops of the ‘Ocean of Pure Consciousness’ which is ‘full of compassion- Love, Bliss and Knowledge’ ie Sath-chith-Aananda Swaroopa, Embodiments of Truth-Awareness-Bliss. We have to live-up to our Truth our Reality. In other words: “All have to be - Sheshasayee - reclining peacefully, calm, serene, undisturbed, on the Serpent-bed [the 5 hooded-cobra representative of the 5 senses] floating on the Ksheera-Saagar – Ocean of Divine Compassion ”.
In Poetry and Literature Imagery, Personification, Simile, Metaphors etc. are used to convey ideas, subtle concepts, insights etc. Imagery in literature is use of figurative language to produce mental pictures, ideas, concepts etc. in the mind of readers and listeners. Personification is an example in human form of a quality or characteristic: The Omnipresent -The Subtler than the subtlest and Vaster than the vastest - is depicted, explained and made accessible to human comprehension thus- so that humans can understand, become aware, realise and experience the underlying ‘Base’ the ‘Aadhaar’. How else to ‘picturise’or depict the Invisible, Infinite, Eternal, Omniscient, Omnipresent and Omnipotent of which all are individual manifestations ? Instead of doubting, we have to experience the Invisible Subtle Truth.
“Divya Atma Swaroopalara- Embodiments of Divine Atma.....” This is how the Divine Discourses of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba begin, addressing everyone, all, by their True Identity. This is what all have to experience and realise.

EVERY HUMAN BEING IS A MEMBER OF SOCIETY–Start early, drive slowly, reach safely.
In an effort to inculcate Human Values and Spiritual Knowledge in their students, the Education Department of MCD provided Human Values Spiritual Science Book 1, [Maanviya Moolya Adhyatmik, Vignyaan Pustak 1, the only Hindi edition available at the time ] to all its Primary Schools in March-April 2010, during Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s last visit to Delhi, thus offering their contribution in the Divine Mission of Character building and Transformation of mankind through Integral Education. Bhagawan too, thus personally showered His Grace. The Education in Human Values programme was first introduced in the Education Department, Municipal Corporation Delhi, in the early 1980s in collaboration with the Sri Sathya Sai Education Trust, Delhi. MCD Teachers can sow the seeds of Sathya and Dharma in young hearts. The example set by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, the capital city of India, is worth emulating. Capable youngsters even from humble backgrounds can rise to great heights. To develop the nation’s Human Resource, Value Education should be made available to all.
Here is an Inspiring Example: Tara Prabhu, who lost her father at the tender age of four, received her early education in the R.S.Puram Municipal High School, Coimbatore. After completing Post Graduation in Chemistry from Bombay University, she served in Bhaba Atomic Research Centre, Bombay, for 12 years 1960-72. Since early 50s she used to come to Prasanthi Nilayam for Bhagawan’s Divine Darshan. Bhagawan told her to do PhD. from abroad. Accordingly she completed PhD. from Bristol University, U.K.. Back in India, Dr.Tara Prabhu was specially blessed by Bhagawan to serve in His first College in Anantapur, 1972-74. Later, she was honoured as the first Principal, 1974 to 1995 [and as Director till 2001] of Sri Sathya Sai Womens College, Bhopal M.P. The qualifying requirement for the post was: Ten years of teaching experience / PhD. from a foreign University. Bhagawan had ensured her future years ago, by telling her to do PhD. abroad.
The Indian Government must implement Bhagawan’s Value Education to ensure quality development of HUMAN RESOURCES – men and women of exemplary character. Then alone we of free India, can claim to have done justice to the sacrifices made by those who laid down their lives for India’s independence. True Independence is Inner-dependence: Dependence on the inner being of man – Manifesting the Divinity inherent in Man.
The success of a nation, any Plan or Project undertaken, depends on the men and women who handle it. Besides technical skills and knowledge, qualities like honesty, sense of duty, discipline, dedication, co-operation, helping others, working for the common good of all, attitude of brotherhood, serving society and nation with love and devotion etc are equally important, even more important and fundamental requirements of successful, honest and peaceful living.
“Yatra Yogeshwaraha Krishnaha Yatra Partho Dhanurdharaha,
Tatra Shreervijayo Bhootihi Dhruvaa Neetirmatirmama.”
[Bhagavad Geeta, last shloka -Chap. 18 : 78]
“Wherever is Krishna, the Lord of Yoga [Yoga means ‘Union’, The Lord of all], wherever is Partha [Arjun], the wielder of the bow [meaning one who is skilled in action] there are prosperity, victory, expansion and Sound Policy; such is my conviction.”
In other words, where there is God and knowledgeable person skilled in action there is victory. Together with Knowledge and skill, the Presence of Divinity ensures success, prosperity and happiness. Time and again Avatars, and Divine Personalities have proclaimed and taught this truth, we human beings have to have faith in this truth and put it into practise. "Men are more valuable than all the wealth in the world" - Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
Practise Silence, Know Yourself
Truly if each person does his or her own duty sincerely, to the best, and all have kindness, sympathy and consideration for others, if all avoid polluting the environment with unnecessary noise and bad thoughts, life on our Mother Planet would become peaceful and happy. In cities one has to live with the constant sound and noise of vehicles moving, machines, factories etc. To a certain extent, this is unavoidable. But the sound pollution created by people constantly talking laughing, screaming loudly, unnecessary noise, loud sounds of various ‘entertainment’ media can certainly be avoided. Universal Primary Education must also teach human beings to be silent, feel and experience their inner Self and have consideration for the same inner Self of others. All are One. Education must also teach people not to be selfish and self-centered-only I, myself, my family; not to waste, not to pollute throwing litter and garbage around, who will clean ? Not to talk loudly polluting the environment and destroying peace. Unnecessary talk, loud talk is waste of energy and leads to poor memory and poor concentration. It is waste of man-power. If children learn, from them the knowledge flows out to the adults of the family also.
Observe the arrow fitted on the bow: the further inwards it is pulled the swifter and more forceful its flight when released. Similarly, the more inwards the mind is pulled the sharper and further its flight and force. The Voice of God can be heard in the depths of Silence. [Pl. see HVSS Book 10 & 12, Meditation: Dr. Art-ong Jumsai, once NASA top scientist]
All subjects are taught in Schools through books. Students imbibe the knowledge according to their capability and the effort they put in. Human Values and Divine Knowledge too can be imbibed through the guidance provided in books. This bookish knowledge put into practice becomes practical knowledge, which helps one to develop general knowledge, common sense and discrimination knowledge. Discrimination leads to wisdom, so that people live and work in such a way that it is satisfactory to the whole society. Progress depends on students sincerity, dedication, previous latent capability and practical implementation. Teachers teach, students learn according to their capability. Differences in each person’s capabilities, skills and talents exist. All varieties of jobs and vocations are needed for the smooth running of human society. Each one will eventually fit in, in society, according to his/her capabilities according to his/her own destiny.
What is important is that all should live the Human Values of Truth, Right Conduct, Peace, Love and Non-violence. Sometimes people reach the breaking point and commit suicide. Even some students, due to educational pressures, some other tensions or parental pressure too succumb to such drastic steps. Frustrations, Traumas can be prevented by cultivating faith in God, devotion and an understanding of the Spiritual domain of the human personality. Repeating God’s Names with devotion helps to restore balance, stability and the strength to face the ups and downs that are inevitable in life. Chanting the Lord’s Names is an easy and sweet method of fortifying the human mind. Hence all must be taught this easy, soft and sweet method. Prayers to the Supreme for help and succour bring relief to the suffering. Children should learn these as part of education. The 5 fundamental Human Values must be inculcated in the tiny-tots so that the nation and the world is assured of capable and noble men and women of good character. And it is the Education System that can undertake this noble and essential Task of Man-making.
It is common knowledge that INNOVATIONS TAKE TIME. Any change or innovation takes time. It has to be properly understood, people have to get re-organised and the working situation too has to undergo some changes. It requires time as it may be resisted initially, either out of inertia, lack of interest, other work and family pressures, or because somehow people feel suspicious.
Therefore, to put the peoples’ mind at rest, and acquaint them with the proposed changes, it is necessary to give time so that the human beings, the men and women who will be actually responsible for the proper implementation of the innovative changes both at the Administrative levels and grass roots, are sufficiently trained and understand the proposed changes in the right spirit. Years have gone by since the concept of Values for our Education System was first introduced. Many have been trained also. The time is perhaps ripe, now, to go ahead for global wellbeing. Immediate steps can be taken and MUST be taken now to educate the human mind, by introducing Spiritual Education in schools, so that the future generations are assured of clean living, in peace, harmony and unity.
The End of Education is Character. The End of Culture is Perfection - Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
It is well said in the Ramayana (Ramayana means The Advent of Rama-The Supreme Soul): “Where Ram (God) is, kaama (desire) is not, and where kaama (desire) is, Ram (God) is not ”.
At least now, when unrest, crime, violence and disease are widespread, human beings must wake up to the danger that they are facing. There is no time to lose. The animal in man must be thrown out by asserting the Divine in man. The educationists must not delay, but resolve immediately to turn the course of events and take to the path of :- Truth, Righteousness, Peace, Love and Non-violence. Man has to choose: either the path of the Godly by practising peaceful divine teachings, or the path of the aggressive.
Sai Teachings have been given to explain the principles of peaceful systematic functioning. Let us not be students who are unable to control desires and lack energy to do their duty (studying) properly, creating problems for all concerned. Instead let us be good students who understand fast, put in hard-work steadily and conscientiously, with attention and obtain Outstanding Grades. Let us all put in our sincere effort to understand the Supreme Truth.

TRANSFORMATION THROUGH VALUE EDUCATION :
In a democratic nation like India it is important that violence should not be allowed to drown the voice of the peace-loving spiritually inclined devotees who do want value-based education to be introduced in schools. Specially in this age of fast modern life, when both parents of nuclear families go out to work, it is the schools and colleges that must inculcate values in youngsters, strengthen their Spiritual foundations and unfold the latent divinity of mankind.
The first Drafts of Human Values: Spiritual Science Books 10, 11, and 12 were first sent to Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba in 1998, when He was in Brindavan. The Warden of Sri Sathya Sai Hostel, Brindavan, Bangalore was kind enough to take them to Bhagawan. Bhagawan told him to keep them on the table. Accordingly, the Draft Books were kept on Bhagawan’s table.
Later the Compiler sent the Spiritual Science Draft-Books to New Delhi to:- “Keep them on the Government’s Table”. Personally, the printed Spiritual Science Books were again submitted to the Govt., when Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba Himself paid a visit to New Delhi in March 1999 and blessed Ministers and officers, thus encouraging and gracing human effort in His Divine Mission. The remaining Books 1 to 9 were all completed before Birthday - 23rd. November 2000, and the whole set sent to the Govt. offices in continuation.
The human effort by all has been continuing ever since: developing human awareness, building requisite infra-structure, the other necessary components etc for full-scale implementation. All the world’s a stage where each plays the allotted role. Entrances and exits are in Divine Hands. We sanctify our lives by contributing tiny grains of sands in the Transformation - Evolution Process, thus earning Divine Grace of the Supreme Eternal One.
History is witness: Down the ages, with the use of force and violence - many empires have risen and fallen. The struggle for freedom from the British Rule united the pieces, pieces, pieces of India into a united whole nation. The Divine Gardener of the Universe thus creates new variety from the old by the process of grafting or mixing, using various methods like invasions, aggression, violence, new administration, education, teaching, preaching, trade and Commerce. The British Empire evolved into the Commonwealth. We had Commonwealth games recently in New Delhi, India. The Common Wealth of Spiritual Knowledge is now being shared and is awakening globally. Common language, science and technology have not only opened the windows of India to the world but also provided Links round the Globe.
From pieces, pieces to Global Oneness seems to be the next step. The gentle Sai Teachings and Message of 'Love All, Serve All' is moving the Globe towards the Fatherhood of God and Brotherhood of man. All are parts of the One Body. Malfunctioning of any part of the body leads to Dis-ease, which requires 'treatment'. Hopefully the Supreme Teacher and Educator need not use strong corrective measures- reprimands, warnings, punishments etc. Human beings must show satisfactory progress, be-aware and work for global peace and harmony, unitedly, just as all the organs in the body function co-operatively.
Evolution takes place by Natural Selection and Survival of the Fittest. We have to remind ourselves: Human effort draws Divine Grace. It is said to whom much is given, much is expected ! Unity is strength..... ! Let us remember the divine trust and work unitedly to evolve from human to divine, from ‘I’ to ‘We’, and work together to fulfil the Divine Mission.
DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION –Formative Experiences
To continue up the evolution ladder, let us learn from the cumulative experience of predecessors. Given below are some formative glimpses from those who kept the wheels of the nation running smoothly and efficiently during the difficult transition period, the Pre-Independence to Post-Independence era, and managed to confer on the nation - stability, unity and progress.
From:- MEMOIRS OF OLD MANDARINS OF INDIA, published March 1985 by Document Centre for Corporate and Business Policy Research, New Delhi. The compilation of about 350 pages contains views and papers of 25 to 30 I.C.S. Administrators who held various offices in the British, Provincial Autonomy and Post-Independence days:-
FOREWORD by Mr. R.N. Banerjee, CSI, CIE. ICS (Retd.) Former Home Secretary, Govt. of India:
“I feel a compilation of this type should be very useful to the younger generation of Civil Servants at the Centre, in the States right down to the District level........
....What accounted for the more efficient administration in the country in British times. ...How the Services conducted themselves with the introduction of elements of Parliamentary Government......and in the Provincial autonomy era (1937-39).....and with the Ministers in the post-Independence regime and with what success.
Those who built up the services remained wedded to.....the view that those who acquitted themselves well in the Universities - effect of the education imparted being: “to open, to invigorate, and to enrich the mind....and enlarge and strengthen understanding.”- generally made their mark in the civil Services and professions. Judged by this standard the British Public Service Commission certainly selected the best (that is the most adequately equipped and displaying the best potentiality)....
With the increase of Indianisation (initiated about the end of World War).....The British members fully cooperated in building up the Indians in accordance with the old traditions....
The Secretary of State’s instructions were that while not hesitating to render advice on the merits of a case, Secretariat officers should plant themselves in the mind of the Ministers and try to carry out their policy.....Once a decision was taken by the Ministers, the Secretaries had to carry it out both in spirit and letter......
Both from my experience as Chairman U.P.S.C. and what I have seen of the services, the I.A.S. has also been able to obtain the best personnel available. The U.P.S.C. and senior bureaucrats have, however, held that the quality of graduates appearing for the IAS has begun to deteriorate.....”
I.C.S. AND DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION– Pages 310 to 324 - by Sri N.C. Shrivastava (ICS Retd. Service from 1936 to 1971. Last 14-15 years of service: Gen. Manager Bhilai Steel Plant, Adviser (Industry) Planning Commission and Secretary Mines & Metals, and last, Communications.)
“......though they [Indians] had been free to compete for over half a century. In 1921 the number [of Indians in I.C.S.] had risen to only 13%..... ‘They (the British Civil Servants) were the steel frame of the Indian constitutional structure. If you take that steel frame out, the fabric will collapse’ [ - words of Prime Minister 1916 to 1922, Llyod George]
......my experience in Labour Department of working in war time and under the first National Government, just before Partition, was that officers were entrusted with specific jobs and left to implement them with all possible speed wth the minimum of guidance from the top and little or no interference.
.......new Rehabilitation Ministry immediately after partition....hectic conditions....receiving refugee trains.....expediting movement of relief supplies...looking after refugee camps....arranging Resettlement, training-cum-employment...... As Chief Settlement Commissioner and Joint Secretary [evaluating claims of properties left in West Pakistan and settling-compensations of evacuee properties].... This was a challenging task, involving Cabinet approval......When Minsters felt the need to obtain P.M.’s guidance, the officers had often to prepare drafts for them spending much time on suitably stating the case and the issues involved. Much to our surprise, Prime Minister’s reply with clear instructions would almost come back the very next day. He was very prompt.....
.....The Services had been depleted by the departure of the British element. Indian members of the ICS, who at the time numbered less than half of the pre-partition strength, proved equal to the occasion. Inspired by patriotic feelings, they helped the new Ministers loyally and devotedly to tackle the situation. .......They (Ministers) all treated officers with courtsey and considerations, had a broad outlook and got the best from their officers.......When rebuke or reprimand was required, it was administered with propriety with a view to effect improvement and not offensively.......Their work was appreciated by the Ministers who were all eminent national personalities....The country was thus able to pull through the difficult post-partition times.
After the first General Election of 1952, the same national leaders returned to the Government. Cordial relationships with the Services continued and the two worked in harmony as before.
With passing years, memories of the important role which the Services had played in administration in the past became fainter.....I.A.S. officers coming to higher posts had to face difficulties....
If Services bear in mind that they are not masters but are a tool for implementation ....and Ministers are mindful....administration would function more efficiently. Protection for Services exists in the Constitution, but individual officers can be harassed in many different ways...against which the officer feels helpless.
The struggle to survive without running into trouble seems to have created in the busy officer’s mind a mentality of each looking to his own interests and not bothering about Juniors.
The present day officers’ life is made more difficult because the people and their representatives.....are using increasingly clever and dubious means to further their interests.
Efforts should be directed to the improvement of the environment........
If the quality of the young men........ is considered not good enough, the blame lies with the schools and colleges of which they are the end products....
.....There can obviously be no alternative to secularism, but the total exclusion of religion from education has perhaps not been good for the youth...... why the wholesome elements in the old spiritual and moral teachings of religions should be avoided is not clear. Character building would be helped a lot by incorporating suitably in the educational system all that is good and great in our civilisation and religions.
We can justly be proud of the many achievements since Independence. Commendable progress has been made in industrial, technical, scientific and other spheres......many reforms introduced. In spite of what has been done and enormous outlays, poverty still prevails in both rural and urban areas along with discontent and frustrations. Corruption and dishonesty flourish while qualities of head and heart which ordinarily sustain society and nation are on the decline. Regional, caste and language considerations and false notions about what religion is about, are threatening the country’s unity.
The cure for all these ills does not lie in higher per capita income only. The quality of the individual has to be raised by value oriented education which will teach the young to rate hard work, discipline, integrity, self respect and national honour higher than the quest for material benefits and personal power. We can hope for a brighter future if serious effort in this direction are initiated urgently besides trying to bring about material advancement.”
TO SUM-UP: When the so-called “steel frame of the British Civil Servants” was taken out, the fabric of the Indian constitutional structure did not collapse. It managed to survive ! With the protection and guidance of the Divine Director it is striving now, not only to re-establish its roots in the home soil of ancient Indian Culture and Spirituality, but also watering the roots of all.
India is fortunate to have been blessed by the Sai Advent, specially Andhra Pradesh where Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba has founded Divine Educational Institutions of Higher Learning. The Spiritual Light has to spread its Divine Radiance round the Globe. Andhra Pradesh the host for the Unity Cup Cricket Match must host Unity and spread it Globally ! Karnataka the next greatest receiver of Divine Grace has to lend a helping hand. Tamil Nadu where the Sai Ganga water slakes the thirst of Chennai residents has to let the Sai Ganga of Spiritual Knowledge flow out to others. Uttar Pradesh and other adjacent states sanctified by the previous Incarnations too must join to spread the message of Oneness, and Love all, Serve all.
In fact all the Messengers, the great Teachers of mankind, and Prophets of God have disseminated their Message that there is only One God and He is Omnipresent. All nations of the world should understand, remove bitterness and put the Divine Teachings into practise.
Instead of wasting precious time, energy and Human Resources on pieces, pieces, pieces and perishable material objects united attention, time and energy can be focussed on fruitful peaceful, positive Spiritual Re-construction of Human Resources. Idle mind is the devil’s workshop. Let us All Together apply our mind and energy in the POSITIVE activity of Understanding, Universalising and Incorporating Spiritual Knowledge in the Global Education System. Unitedly we can build the Sai-steel frame of Our Home Planet, Mother Earth.
There is only one Religion, The Religion of Love,
There is only one Language, the Language of the heart,
There is only one Caste the Caste of Humanity,
There is only One God, And He is Omnipresent.
– Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba
